In the last full two page spread, Meta Knight thinks about how, though he’s carrying one more thing ( Kirby’s picture) he doesn’t feel burdened. ( …Not that weird, in a world with Adeleine!) Kirby is thrilled, thinking his picture became real apples! In its place is a pile of apples - which we the readers know Meta Knight brought him in exchange for protecting his sword! When they wake up, the sword is gone, and so is their picture. They decide to nap until the skies clear up and find a sword ” …perfect for laying against“ for their nap. When the rain stops, Kirby is still looking for food. Meta Knight is worried because he can’t find his sword, and he doesn’t want it to get wet. The highlight of the book for sure.) Kirby is hungry and wishes they had a real apple instead of a drawing. They both take shelter on opposite sides of a tree, unaware the other is there. Meta Knight decides he’ll spend this time quietly gazing into a fire he started in the middle of the road for no reason, but the oncoming rain puts his edgelord fire out…!
Kirby starts to get lost, though they actually enjoy it, as being lost just encourages you to take new paths you’ve never been on before! Though they’re worried about their drawing getting ruined in the sudden rain. Meta Knight then reads a book on a tall tower ( no, we can’t see the title here either) because he enjoys being able to sink into the text in the quiet. They don’t care that their singing is causing a cave-in. : short pause as Dess laughs at Meta’s canon edginess:Īhem. Meta Knight starts his alone time flying over the “… dark, cold, torrential seas…” because “ loneliness sharpens oneself, and the roar of nature calls forth ones’ inner instincts." The story is about what Kirby and Meta Knight ( separately) do while they are alone. Also, said spot was excellent for drawing. The first thing that made me laugh is right in the beginning: Kirby is described as having a “secret” favorite spot from where you could look over all Dream Land. Kirbypurrs has already highlighted the Metadad moments from the latest “ It’s Kirby Time” book so I’ll share some of my other favorite moments, as well as a summary/translation for everyone!
